Apps From Outer Space, LLC ("AFOS," "we," "us") develops apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. This policy explains how we handle information across all of our apps and our website (appsfromouterspace.com).

The Short Version

Most of our apps collect no data at all. The ones that do collect only what's needed for a specific feature (like a leaderboard name). We never sell your data. We never will.

Information Our Apps May Collect

Apps that collect no data

TimeCube Spatial Clock, Graph Grid, Cone of Shame, Backdrop, Pond Fishing, Letters + Words, Grammar Snob, Grammar Snob 2, Friends Everywhere, Live Photo Fakes.

Apps that may collect limited data

  • CryptoQuote — If you participate in Game Center leaderboards, your Game Center display name is visible to other players. Daily Challenge scores are submitted through Game Center.
  • Googly Eyes — The app accesses your camera and photo library to add effects to images. Photos are processed entirely on your device. No images are uploaded to any server. If you use in-app purchases, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment information.
  • Flashlight — The app may display ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad targeting and measurement, as described in Google's privacy policy. We do not receive personally identifiable information from ads.

Information We Use Without Collecting

Some apps access device capabilities without transmitting data:

  • Camera and Photos — Googly Eyes accesses your camera and photo library locally. Images are never uploaded.
  • Face detection — Googly Eyes and Live Photo Fakes use on-device face detection to place effects. Live Photo Fakes also uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to find people and poses in the photo you pick. Face data is processed locally and is never stored or transmitted.
  • Photos — Live Photo Fakes never reads your photo library. You choose a photo with Apple's photo picker, and the app can only add the Live Photos and videos you save. Your photos are processed entirely on your device and never uploaded.
  • Daily free effect — Live Photo Fakes checks a public Apple CloudKit database to learn which effect is free each day. The check sends nothing about you or your photos, and you don't need to be signed in to iCloud. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment information.
  • Contacts — Friends Everywhere reads the contacts you choose to give it, to suggest someone to reach out to and to show your friends under the names you've saved for them. Your contacts stay on your device and are never transmitted to us.
  • Your iCloud — Posts and photos you create in Friends Everywhere are stored in your own iCloud account and shared read-only, through Apple's CloudKit sharing, with the individual people you invite. We operate no server and no database for this app, so your posts never pass through anything we run and we cannot read them. You can see every follower and revoke any of them at any time. To let friends recognize you, the phone numbers or email addresses you choose to share are hashed on your device before being written to your shared feed.

Budgy and Apple Card Data

Budgy is a household cash-flow planner. On iPhone, if you choose to connect your Apple Card, Budgy uses Apple's FinanceKit to read your Apple Card account and transactions from Wallet, so it can work out your next card payment without you typing it in. iOS asks for your permission before Budgy reads anything, and you can turn that access off at any time in the Settings app.

Budgy keeps only these details:

  • For each transaction, the amount, the date, and the merchant name (or the transaction description when there is no merchant name).
  • For the card account, the current balance, the credit limit, and the next payment due date.

Everything else FinanceKit provides is discarded on your iPhone.

Where it's stored

Budgy stores your data on your devices and in iCloud, using Apple's CloudKit. A household's data lives in the iCloud account of the person who set up the household, and it's shared through Apple's CloudKit sharing only with the people that person invites. If you join someone else's household, the card details you add are stored in their iCloud and everyone in the household can see them. We operate no server for Budgy, so your data never passes through anything we run and we can't read it.

We don't sell your Apple Card data or share it with third parties, and we don't use it for advertising, marketing, or personalized recommendations.

Stopping and deleting

If you turn off Budgy's access to your financial data in Settings, Budgy stops reading your card. Deleting Budgy removes the copy on that device. To remove the household's data from iCloud, the person who set up the household can delete Budgy's data from their iCloud storage in Settings. If you've joined someone else's household and want your card details removed, ask them to delete it, or contact us and we'll help.

Our Website

Our website (appsfromouterspace.com) uses GoatCounter for anonymous, cookie-free analytics. GoatCounter counts page views without collecting personally identifiable information. No cookies are set. See GoatCounter's privacy policy for details.

Kids' Apps

Apps designed for children (Pond Fishing) collect absolutely no data of any kind. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
